Zakhrafa began with a simple love of wood and colour, and grew into a small workshop where raw material is turned into something worth keeping. From vintage-inspired detail to quieter modern forms, each piece is made to suit the room it will live in.

The making
Worked by hand, from board to finish
Each piece is cut, carved, painted and finished by hand. Patterns are drawn on before a brush touches the wood, and colour is built up in layers until the grain and the design sit together.
It is slow work, and it is the reason every Zakhrafa piece carries small marks of the hand that made it.
